OFFICINE PANERAI CELEBRATES ITS PASSION FOR THE SEA WITH A GREAT PHOTO EXHIBITION IN JAPAN

Officine Panerai presents the photo exhibition “Passion for the Sea” featuring pictures taken by the marine photographer Yoichi Yabe at Omotesando Hills.

In honour of its historic links to the sea, Officine Panerai has promoted classic sailing culture for ten years through its sponsorship of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, the leading international circuit for these vintage craft. The company also acquired and restored the Bermudan ketch Eilean, built in 1936 by the legendary Fife shipyard at Fairlie in Scotland. The sea for Panerai is pure passion, identity and place of origin that lives again in Eliean, which was restored and returned to the sea thanks to a restoration that took more than 40,000 hours.

Yoichi Yabe, the internationally acknowledged marine photographer, has followed Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge since 2007, taking capturing beauty of classic yachts, passion of the sailors, craftsmanship of yacht builders, and the grandeur scenes of nature. At the Officine Panerai “Passion for the Sea” exhibition, Yabe’s works shows Panerai’s devotion and respect towards craftsmanship and classic yachts. Panerai’s 2014 new watches filled with the brand’s passion, design, and technology will also be on display.
