The pieces will be displayed on the ground floor in the exhibition space within the Fine Watch Room at Harrods from Wednesday, 3rd September 2014 to Wednesday, 24th September 2014 and will offer visitors a unique chance to view these outstanding timepieces usually not accessible to the public.

Officine Panerai will exhibit 14 vintage watches and a number of vintage naval instruments, some of them with an estimated value of up to £300,000. The watches exhibited are unique not only because of the low quantities produced between the 1930s and 1990s, but also because most of the pieces were never available to the public.

Models to be featured at the exhibition date back as early as to the 1940’s, up to modern limited pieces of the 1990’s and early 21st century. One of the watches on display will be the spectacular and rare Radiomir California Dial 3646 from 1941, next to a 1955 Panerai Luminor with an Angelus movement and a 1956 Egiziano Grosso.

Also on show will be the 1993 Mare Nostrum, which is based on the first ever Chronograph created by Panerai in 1943. Panerai has launched a large selection of Chronographs since the 1993 Mare Nostrum, the most recent ones being this year’s highly acclaimed Radiomir 1940 Chronographs. Two Special Editions from 2002 and 2005 and a Limited Edition Paneristi watch from 2010 will also be displayed at the exhibition.

Next to the historic timepieces, a selection of historic compasses and a torch will be displayed in honour of Panerai’s historic links with the Italian Navy.
