Officine Panerai Presents “The Face Of Time” In Madrid, A Tribute To Watchmaking Design And Excellence
Madrid will host a unique exhibition in from the 14th to the 14th of June that will show the two most characteristic features of the Italian Panerai luxury watch brand: design and innovation.
THE FACE OF TIME will transform the vaults of Cibeles Palace to welcome professional and amateur luxury watchmakers. The installations will invite visitors to immerse themselves in Panerai’s identity, a luxury watch brand whose Radiomir and Luminor models have become internationally renowned design icons since their creation in the 1930s and 1940s, respectively. The title of the exhibition refers to the watch’s face, which is one of Panerai’s most characteristic features. Italian-made faces are an elegant expression of simplicity and functionality, which are easily identifiable at present by luxury watch connoisseurs thanks to a specific design which has barely changed since 1938.
The Cibeles Gallery, which is located in Cibeles Palace (the Madrid city hall), will host 2D installations with a Panerai face and which will make up the exhibition itself. The route starts in the design area and continues with a description of the brand’s constant research in technical innovation and its history, which has always stood out because of its links to the sea as a supplier of the Italian Navy.
The exhibition's content is explained using multimedia and visual panels, accompanied by the collection’s most recent pieces. These watches will be seen for the first time in Madrid after they were presented in January at the Geneva SIHH Watch Exhibition. THE FACE OF TIME’S installations will open the doors to the public and provide watch enthusiasts who live in Madrid or are visiting the city the possibility of living a Panerai experience and discovering the brand in full.
