Prepare For Cyber Warfare: Hands-On With Panerai’s Latest E-Commerce Exclusive

Panerai’s new Submersible Verde Militare could be considered the civilian version of the brand’s experience-based Marina Militare Carbotech.

Under the direction of CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué (watch our interview HERE), Panerai has undergone a sort of reemergence over the last year. The product line has been streamlined, and a new concept of experience-based timepieces (read HERE) has emerged. One such timepiece, the brand’s Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech captivated fans of the brand’s rich history and partnership with the Italian Navy.

As you may have read on Watchonista (HERE), the olive drab toned Carbotech timepiece came with an extraordinary experience with the COMSUBIN, the Italian Navy's elite frogmen force. Our Alexander Friedman took part alongside the lucky owners of this new limited edition. While the Marina Militare Carbotech is long sold out (it was limited to just 33 pieces), we have some good news for you, its civilian issue sibling has arrived and is available only on Panerai’s e-commerce site!

Introducing The Panerai Submersible Verde Militare – 42mm

The new PAM01055 (aka Submersible Verde Militare) is a limited edition (500 pieces) online exclusive timepiece. The piece takes the military concept to the next level with a rich dark green strap, and for the first time in a Panerai, a matching military green dial. This stainless steel piece is sized at a respectable 42mm and is embellished with a beautiful brushed finish.

Like all Panerai Submersibles, the Verde Militare was made to dive. The piece is waterproof to 30 bars (300 meters or almost 1,000 feet). The military green dial is outfitted with bright white Super-LumiNova markers, which lend a striking contrast to the rich dial. A unidirectional rotating bezel also comes with a brushed finish and Super-Luminova dot at 12 o'clock.

The piece features Panerai's new quick-change strap technology, which is utilized via two pushers on the underside of the lugs. Although I'm not sure I'd ever want to change out the strap as the dark green rubber perfectly suits this piece.

While many have characterized Panerai’s traditional collections as robust, albeit large tool watches, the Submersible Verde Militare is remarkably svelte. With a thickness of just 14.37mm, the Verde Militare will fit comfortably on almost any size wrist.

The Submersible Verde Militare is priced at 8,700 CHF or USD and is limited to 500 pieces. The watch is available exclusively on Panerai’s e-commerce channels.

How to experience? Online, of course!

Want to experience this piece? Then head to Panerai’s website! That’s right, as we mentioned, this piece is only available on the brand’s e-commerce channels. Nervous about buying your first watch online? We have you covered. I recently purchased a PAM00774 via the brand's e-commerce site, and the experience couldn't have been smoother (Read HERE).

It’s nice to see that Panerai is fully embracing the digital concept and even going as far as to create a piece exclusive to its e-commerce platform. This piece will undoubtedly sell out, so if you're interested, I would highly recommend visiting Panerai's website today.
