Into The Deep: Panerai’s New Radiomir Mediterraneo Editions

Panerai plunges into the depths of the ocean with new Radiomir Mediterraneo Editions featuring dials with varying gradients of blue.

These two new Mediterraneo Editions join the Panerai Radiomir line with an almost identical look, but in different sizes and with different movements.

Brand-New Radiomir Dials

Available exclusively in Panerai’s boutiques across the world, these two new Panerai Radiomir Mediterraneo Editions celebrate the deep blue color of the ocean with dials that give the impression you are looking over the side of a boat into the depths of the sea. The outside of the dial is in a dark blue and gets gradually lighter towards the middle. This color gradient is achieved using an exclusive new dial manufacturing process.

Radiomir 45mm

The first version comes in a 45mm size with an automatic (PAM01078) movement that was designed and developed in-house at the Panerai manufacture in Neuchâtel. It comes with a three-day power reserve and is fitted in a brushed titanium case, which is both light and robust.

Radiomir 42mm

The second version comes in a 42mm stainless steel case with a manual-winding movement (PAM01144). It also has a three-day power reserve and was designed and produced entirely in-house.

References To The Sea

In addition to the deep blue reference to the sea, the case back is decorated with a beautiful wave motif that has been applied directly onto the sapphire crystal case back using a metallization process. This subtle pattern recalls the sea, while also allowing the owner the possibility to see the beauty of the movements within.

Matching Shades Of Blue

Both timepieces are water-resistant to 100 meters and are paired with blue alligator straps with beige stitching that highlight the deep blue dials with their luminous beige Arabic numerals and hour markers.

We may be far from the shore in lockdown right now but these Panerai Radiomir Mediterraneo Editions bring a little bit of the seaside to our world as we wait patiently for our next vacation!
